Worked example
A changed option should create a parked note, not a silent edit
Suppose the saved row names a black, size-medium option. The old URL redirects to a relevant current page, but the visible options now show black only in size-large. The page is reachable and relevant, yet the intended selection cannot be confirmed.
Classify
Mark the row parked because selection continuity is missing. Do not rewrite the row as size-large.
Next action
Recheck the live resource later or begin fresh research for the intended option while preserving the old row history.
Exception handling
Handle access failures separately from content changes
A challenge page or timeout prevents observation; it does not describe the listing. Keep technical access state separate from the content decision so a temporary failure is not mistaken for a dead row.
- Save the approximate time, final attempted URL, and exact error or challenge state.
- Do not copy cached snippets or old screenshots into a current-state field.
- Schedule a later retry instead of repeatedly requesting the page without new evidence.
- If a later check succeeds, append the new observation rather than deleting the earlier failure.
- Only classify the row after the relevant page and intended option can be observed.
